This project was in collaboration with the LightBox Project Inc. In this commissioned creation, I programmed a Bekonix microcontroller with 5 different themed shows with 3 variations each. Titles for these shows are Volcanic Beach, Party Time, Moods, Seasons, and Mountain Beach. I also programmed 6 buttons to change between shows and change the layer effects.
Collectively we managed the construction of this piece from the laser cutter to the finished product. We used wood tools to carefully craft the frame from dark and poisonous wood for an added cool factor. We laser cut acrylic and colored wood pieces then puzzled them together with 4 programmable sections of LED strips lighting up the acrylic pieces and background.
