This was my mid term project for Fabrication Methodologies class Fall 2026
One of the first clocks to ever exist was the Ancient Egyptian water clock. Invented around 1600 BCE, it was a clock that used water in a jar with a hole in the bottom. As the water dripped out of the little hole, it revealed lines inside the jar marking the time. This clock design is nod the original clock
This clock connects to your wi to keep the time and can be adjusted to anywhere on earth. Once connected you can also customize it’s LED e ect settings through the WLED LED control app or web browser. That’s where the splash concept came from. The LED clock idea I had been wanting to try for a while.
I decided to make it pond themed when playing colors for the second indicator. I stopped on orange and decided it looked like a gold sh swimming around the clock. The pond theme really came together when I made the hour and minute indicators green and they looked like lily pads bobbing in the water. How do you tell time on this clock? Hours are indicated by the slowest flashing green light which stays on the hour. Minutes are indicated by the faster flashing green light which travels around the pond. Seconds are indicated by the jump fading orange light which also swims around the pond. Every hour on the hour like a cuckoo clock, a different LED pattern effect plays in the center section.
